We could discuss: eReaders, QR codes, Mobile sites and Cloud computing in libraries.
NEKLS can also bring our Toy Box full of gadgets and our
notes from the eBook summit, HandHeld librarian webinars, Sue Polanka
webinar and upcoming Jason Griffey eBook webinar.

hbraum Book Discussions sessions 2 Jun 18 2011, 12:20 PM EDT by hbraum

This may be an unconference focused mostly on innovative technology in our libraries and learning together, but I also want to throw out two books worth reading and discussing and forming sessions around: In Pursuit of Elegance: Why the Best Ideas Have Something Missing by Matthew Mays (Erica Reynolds at Johnson County Libraries gives a very persuasive booktalk on this one) and The Atlas of New Librarianship by R. David Lankes (Just released in the past two weeks).

Both books have a lot to offer for discussion and thinking about our profession. And as the unconference is about discussing, I think book discussions would be a fantastic use of the time. Even if people don't end up reading the books we'd end up discussing, if enough read them, we could get a conversation started.

Where are we going in academic libraries? Is completely virtual the next step? Don't just write this off. It's happening.
