library as a place
lively discussion about noise and library culture. talked about zones that were mentioned on yalsa-bk, quiet study zones, social zones where talking and visiting is OK, caution zones where only very quiet whispering is aloud.
fund raising at the Mabee library @Washburn-- setting up an indoor golf course with holes and at each hole will be a learning station so that as they are having fun in the library, students will also be learning about library features and how to use the library.
basically the overall theme is that the idea of the library as it used to be is no longer true so we have to be adaptable and branch out and do different things. interesting that even as library users are using more online features for research and to check out materials, we are still looking for more reasons to bring them into the library for the library experience.
