Where do we have a copyright issues - trying to get permission to use a Seinfeld episode for classe -not making
progress - where is the line for fair use?

Motion Picture License agreement - might look into those.

Use 10% for fair use. Had the discussion in staff meeting a few years ago but now you can view full episodes
online - how does this change things?

Is there a policy on how to give appropriate credit for other institutions training materials? - Creative Commons
licensing could be an alternative. Move more towards Open Source - is helping us move to resources we create that
aren't software. Seek permission.

Check with your own university/school to see if it is appropriate to share resources you have created.

Faculty/User Buy In:
Working with nontraditional faculty/students - example: aviation dept. - science or engineering
Washburn - liaison with faculty - Dean asked him to write notes to all and include a free coupon for coffee with
your librarian - and faculty started calling - 25% return on the cards - effort - individual contact

Creating a flyer or brochure with list of books (resources) that apply to their dept. or curriculum directly

Created customized subject guide - and then shared with faculty - asked for feedback

Printouts of what resources available and attend staff meeting for feedback

Can show online tools - create brochure - get to the people that might not find it anyway

Learning tools development process: general outline; some do storyboards, create PowerPoint with screen shots to
illustrate, if you work from a storyboard - less work on the backend with editing - even with testimonials had to
provide guidance

Use an outline - Camtasia - helps keep the project on track.
