    Parking:

Parking permits are being mailed out on Wednesday, March 12th to all individuals who signed up by March 10th. Individuals who sign up between March 11th and March 14th will have permits mailed out on Saturday, March 15th.

You will need to hang the permit on your rearview mirror, facing the front of your vehicle.

A map of lots on K-State's Manhattan campus is available at: http://www.k-state.edu/parking/maps/07_08map.pdf. The permit is good in any O, R, T, W, or Z lot. This includes the vast majority of lots on campus. It is not good at metered stalls or reserved stalls in those lots, however.

The lot closest to Hale, A6, is likely to be full by 8:00 a.m., even though it is Spring Break. It may be possible to find a spot in A8 or A23. A17, A28, A5, A2, A3, are likely to have spots. The lot that is absolutely certain to have plenty of free spots is D1. It’s about a 7 minute walk from Hale. My recommendation is to try for A23 or A17. They are about a 3 minute walk from Hale and are just north of the building.

The driving directions given above, direct you to lot D1. f you want to aim for A17 and A23, the easiest way to get there from D1 is to head north on Denison and take a right on Claflin (it’ll be the second intersection you come to). Then head east on Claflin until you come to the four way stop at Mid-campus drive. Turn right onto mid-campus drive. A17 will be the first lot on your right. A23 will be the first lot on your left.
in lot D1 on K-State's campus. This lot is just west of Denison Avenue and north of Anderson Ave. (see maps and directions above).

Walking directions from lot D1 to Hale Library's Hemisphere Room.

    • Walk to the northeast corner of the parking lot.
    • Cross the street (Denison Ave.) and follow the sidewalk that passes to the south of the natatorium and the north of the old stadium. This sidewalk will lead you to 17th street.
    • When you cross 17th street you will see the K-State Student Union to your right. Walk diagonally across the courtyard area that lies to the north of the Union.
    • At the northeast corner of the courtyard you will see a sidewalk heading north. Follow this sidewalk past Seaton Hall (on your left).
    • You will see Hale library ahead of you and to your right.
    • At the southwest corner of Hale you will see a ramp leading up to the 2nd floor entrance to the building. Follow the ramp.
    • Open the doors at the top of the ramp. Head through a second set of doors that is immediately past the first.
    • You will now be in Hale Library’s loggia. Up to your left you will find the library’s Reception Desk and two gates that lead into the library proper.
    • Pass through either gate and turn right.
    • On the wall to the right, you will see two elevators with a clock between them.
    • Take these elevators to the 5th floor.
    • When you exit the elevators on the 5th floor, turn right and you will see the entrance to the Hemisphere Room.
