I'm going to go in a different direction first. :-) I wondered about creating "categories" - and then we could think about the various categories? Example:
Productivity tools
Social networking
Creating content
Sharing content
The Big Picture/ Environment (here I was thinking of Cloud Computing)

I found a really nice list of the top 25 tools every learning professional should have: http://www.c4lpt.co.uk/25Tools/index.html

AND I found a Web 2.0 tools and applications list at go2web20.net - the scary thing is I don't know what most of those are:
http://www.go2web20.net/
I'm also working on my list of 13 things. But I wondered if we wanted to also look at some of these that no one has even mentioned yet.

I like what Patti said about categories. We could pick tools for each category and people could pick a tool to use. That way it could be useful for a variety of audiences from beginners to advanced perhaps? Looking into the tools sounds good, too. That way it would also be useful for beginners to advanced. A little late (ok very late), but I know you and Brenda are meeting tomorrow Cindy to go over this. Better late than never. First, I love Patti's ideas of categorizing. Fits in with an over-all idea of concepts, more than a focus on specific tools. With that said from the list,

My List:
1. blogs & rss
2. Twitter/Friendfeed/Plurk (short blasts of info)
3. Facebook/Ning (communities)
4. flickr/picasa/youtube (media sharing)
5. podcasts (audio learning -- iTunesU here?)
6. skype (online chat/webcam/phone calls)
7. Slideshare (presentation hosting)
8. del.icio.us/diggo/stumbleupon/citeulike (social bookmarking)
9. library thing/shelfari (booksharing)
10. jing/animoto (screencasting)
11. google apps: (cloud computing)
12. Interactive Maps (Google/Google Earth -- www.googlelittrips.org ??)
13. Glogster -- I know it's not on the list from the discussion, but I just discovered it on Friday, and it's a very cool site/tool: think digital posterboard!
